Abstract: The big cities of Vietnam, which are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, has the rapid development of public passenger transport, but mostly in the bus system. In the recent years, these cities has been promoting the investment in the development of the modes of large-volume transport, which are the urban rail systems and Bus Rapid Transit, to help meet the demand for urban travel in the city, reduce the traffic congestion and improvethe urban civilization. Currently, the system of public passenger transport in the big cities of Vietnam is mainly by bus. In the near future, if the large-volume transport routes operate, there will be the need for the link of the whole network to create advantages for the passengers in urban areas. Therefore, this article focuses mainly on one of the main characteristics of intgrating the system of public passenger transport in urban areas and the conditions and measures applied in urban areas of Vietnam.
